Filling out a meal application has two benefits: families who qualify can begin having their student enjoy breakfast or lunch on a daily basis at a reduced rate right away. And, one of the factors that determines school funding is the number of families who qualify for free or reduced lunch. The more students deemed eligible, the larger budget allocations are received.
